Michelle Trachtenberg stood up to critics questioning her appearance nearly a year before her unexpected passing at age 39.
At the start of 2024, the actress posted a selfie on Instagram, addressing comments about her looks.
She wrote, "Fun fact. This is my face. Not malnutrition no problems. Why do you have to hate? Get a calendar."
In another post with the same photo, she clarified, “I’ve received several comments recently about my appearance. I have never had plastic surgery I am happy and healthy. Check yourself haters.”
Despite her reassurances, some followers expressed concern over her noticeable weight loss, jaundiced eyes, and dry lips.
One commenter questioned, "Sure it's not a liver issue here? Not trying to be mean just looks worrisome."
Nearly a year later, on February 26, the Gossip Girl alum was found “unconscious and unresponsive” in her New York City apartment.
The NYPD told People, "Upon arrival, officers observed a 39-year-old female unconscious and unresponsive. EMS responded to the location and pronounced the victim deceased. Criminality is not suspected.”
Authorities have not yet revealed the cause of death.
