Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are facing criticism over their 2024 Christmas card. Royal expert Rupert Bell spoke on TalkTV, suggesting the card looks like a “business card.”
He said the Sussexes tried "too hard" to stay "relevant" by including photos from their international trips on the card.
The card also featured pictures of their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, along with a message wishing a "happy holiday season."
The message on the card read, "On behalf of the office of Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Archewell Productions, and Archewell Foundation, we wish you a very happy holiday season and a joyful New Year."
Bell pointed out that the phrase “Happy Holidays” is "very American," suggesting Meghan may have influenced the wording. He added that the card came across as "promotional and attention-seeking."
He also questioned why they couldn’t just share a family photo like others, saying, “The King hasn’t put a picture of him being in Australia.” Bell concluded, “They’re just trying to show 'look at us, we're still relevant'. It’s trying too hard, in my eyes, in what this card says.”
