Justin Timberlake was pulled over in Sag Harbor, NY, early Tuesday and refused to take a breathalyzer test. The "Selfish" singer had been dining at the American Hotel with friends on Monday night. Cops were stationed outside the hotel and followed Timberlake after he left, stopping him for a traffic violation, according to Page Six.
Timberlake, 43, took a field sobriety test but declined the breathalyzer. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and two traffic violations: not stopping at a stop sign and failure to stay in a proper lane. Sources revealed that Timberlake’s friends urged the police to let him go, but the officers proceeded with the arrest.
The arresting officer, reportedly young enough not to recognize the 10-time Grammy winner, did not know who Timberlake was. When Timberlake muttered that the arrest would "ruin the tour," the officer responded, "What tour?"
A second source noted that Timberlake remained a gentleman throughout the process and didn’t show any entitlement. His attorney, Eddie Burke Jr., declined to comment on the details of the arrest.
Ironically, Burke Jr.'s office is directly across from the American Hotel, where Timberlake had been dining. The prominent Hamptons lawyer has represented high-profile clients like Lizzie Grubman and Matt Lauer in the past.
Timberlake was arraigned and released on his own recognizance Tuesday morning, though his New York license will be suspended. He holds an out-of-state license, which may allow him to continue driving elsewhere.

Dressed in a black baseball cap, sunglasses, gray vintage T-shirt, black jacket, blue jeans, and white Nike Air Force 1 sneakers, Timberlake was seen leaving the police station Tuesday morning, maintaining a low profile.
Insiders told Page Six that Timberlake’s arrest occurred after he left the hotel, with police citing him for a traffic violation. His friends tried to intercede, but the police carried out the arrest.
Despite the situation, Timberlake remained calm, even as he expressed concern over the impact on his tour. The officer's lack of recognition of the star added an unusual twist to the incident.
