Dallas Cowboys' quarterback Dak Prescott is facing a tough time this offseason. He's in the spotlight after filing a lawsuit, claiming someone is trying to extort $100 million from him.
The issue stems from an accusation of sexual assault by a woman from the Dallas area. The alleged incident dates back to February 2017.
Both the Prosper Police and Dallas Police are looking into the sexual assault claim and the alleged extortion involving Prescott.
A spokesperson from the Dallas Police mentioned they received a report about the assault on February 2, 2017, at a location on Stemmons Freeway.
The investigation is ongoing. The Prosper Police, responsible for Prescott's area, are also investigating his extortion claims.
Prescott's lawyer stated that the encounter was consensual.
While the incident happened in Plano at XTC Cabaret, the Plano Police haven't commented on any investigation.
The woman's lawyer, Yoel Zwhaie, spoke about the case on a Dallas radio show, saying his client might consider filing criminal charges.
The NFL and the Dallas Cowboys have chosen not to comment on the allegations or Prescott's extortion claims.
Prescott's lawyer emphasized his empathy for sexual assault survivors and his belief in punishing perpetrators.
He stated Prescott has never engaged in nonconsensual sexual conduct.
The lawyer also addressed the issue of lies and extortion, vowing not to let Prescott be exploited.
