In a candid interview with Rolling Stone, TV personality Kelly Osbourne opened up about embracing her status as a "nepo baby" and the profound impact motherhood has had on her life.
Osbourne, known for her role in the iconic reality show "The Osbournes," acknowledges that her fame is intrinsically tied to her rockstar parents, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne. Proudly embracing the label of a "nepo baby," she expressed admiration for her parents' achievements, describing them as iconic figures in history. However, Osbourne emphasizes that despite her privileged background, her parents instilled the value of proving oneself.
"I'm proud to be a nepo baby. I think that what they have done is incredible, history-making," Osbourne stated. "But it doesn't mean that I should automatically be given all of these opportunities. My parents have always taught me that you have to prove yourself."
The revelation comes amid discussions about the impact of the family's reality show on their lives. Osbourne's father, Ozzy Osbourne, recently admitted fears that participating in "The Osbournes" had adverse effects on his children's well-being. The show, which aired from 2002 to 2005, provided an intimate look into the Osbourne family dynamics but was ultimately halted due to concerns about its impact on the family.
Reflecting on her own journey, Kelly Osbourne revealed a significant turning point in her life—finding purpose through motherhood. The birth of her first child, son Sidney, with Slipknot DJ Sid Wilson, marked a transformative experience for Osbourne.
"I never really felt like I had a purpose in life until I had a baby, and that changed everything. I have such a better understanding and perspective," Osbourne explained. Contrary to common perceptions, she emphasized that motherhood, for her, wasn't an end but a new beginning. "Some people have a baby, and it feels like their life is over, and they've got to start a new one. I had a baby, and I feel like my life has just begun."
Kelly Osbourne's journey, from embracing her nepotistic label to finding purpose in motherhood, adds a nuanced layer to the ongoing conversation about fame, family, and personal fulfillment in the spotlight.
