Kate Micucci, widely known for her role as Lucy on the beloved sitcom "Big Bang Theory," shared heart-wrenching news with her fans through a TikTok video.
In the emotional video, Micucci, who is currently in the hospital, began, “Hey everybody, this is not a TikTok, it's a ‘Sick Tok.’” She disclosed that she underwent lung cancer surgery just a day ago but reassured her followers that the medical team detected it at an early stage.
Micucci, who has never smoked a cigarette in her life, expressed her astonishment, stating, “It’s really weird, because I’ve never smoked a cigarette in my life so, you know, it was a surprise. But also, I guess, also, it happens, and so the greatest news is they caught it early, they got it out, I’m all good.”
Despite the challenging situation, she maintained a positive outlook, assuring her fans that she will be taking it slow for a few weeks but plans to resume her usual activities soon. Micucci even expressed her eagerness to get back to painting.
Amid her candid sharing, she humorously mentioned, “Why am I still talking... 'cause I’m on drugs!” accompanied by a lighthearted thumbs-up gesture.
Responding to a fan's inquiry about symptoms, Micucci revealed, “I had one thing in my bloodwork that came back really high." She elaborated, “So I went to a preventative doc who did a few scans. He scanned my heart, and that’s where the spot in my lung was noticed.”
The actress concluded her heartfelt message with gratitude for the early detection and the successful surgery, leaving fans with a hopeful outlook for her recovery.
