Former senior working royals, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, are reportedly exploring avenues to mend ties with the Royal family as they grapple with financial challenges following their departure from royal duties in 2020.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are said to be "desperately wishing" to re-establish themselves in the "good graces" of the Royal family, hoping to avoid further humiliation. In a notable gesture, the California-based couple reached out to King Charles on his 75th birthday, extending their wishes and even sharing a heartfelt video featuring their children singing "happy birthday."
Royal and showbiz commentator Kinsey Schofield discussed the situation in an interview with Mark Dolan on GB News. When asked about the possibility of a "peace deal," Schofield responded, "I mean, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex desperately wish it was." She cited reports from Page Six suggesting a pivotal conversation between Harry, Meghan, and King Charles after an alleged birthday snub.
Schofield delved into the challenges the couple faces in proving their value without the royal association. She highlighted Meghan's Archetypes podcast, where the duchess distanced herself from the Royal Family, noting that it did not fare well analytically and contributed to the loss of their Spotify deal. In contrast, their Netflix series, despite being a year old, gained attention by addressing issues within the Royal family.
"Harry and Meghan need to get back in the good graces of the Royal Family," Schofield emphasized, underlining the potential impact on their value for future projects with platforms like Netflix and Amazon.
As the Duke and Duchess of Sussex navigate this delicate phase, the question remains whether their efforts will lead to a substantive reconciliation with the Royal family or if the challenges of proving their worth in the absence of royal ties will persist.
