Joe Jonas Files for Divorce from Sophie Turner After Four Years of Marriage

Joe Jonas has initiated legal proceedings to end his marriage with Sophie Turner, following four years of matrimony. According to documents obtained by PEOPLE, the 34-year-old singer filed for divorce in Miami, citing irreparable damage to their marriage. The divorce filing specifies that the couple has a prenuptial agreement in place.

The musical artist and the former Game of Thrones actress exchanged vows in 2019 after dating for nearly three years, and they share two children: a 3-year-old daughter named Willa and a second daughter, referred to as D.J. in the divorce papers, who is 14 months old.

This development came shortly after reports by PEOPLE that Joe Jonas had sought the counsel of a divorce attorney, even though he continued to wear his wedding ring.

The pair's initial connection was made through Instagram direct messages in 2016, and within a few months, they officially began dating. Sources confirmed their relationship, emphasizing Jonas's commitment to settling down with Turner.

In October 2017, approximately a year after their romance began, Jonas and Turner announced their engagement. They held a spontaneous Las Vegas wedding ceremony on May 1, 2019.

Just over a year later, in July 2020, Turner gave birth to their first child, a daughter named Willa. Then, in July 2022, representatives for both celebrities exclusively confirmed to PEOPLE that they had welcomed their second daughter.
