Renowned actor Kevin Costner is said to be arranging the possibility of casting Meghan, the sweetheart of Prince Harry, for the sequel of his blockbuster movie. In the past, he had engaged in discussions with Princess Diana about the same role.
Kevin Costner, an accomplished 68-year-old actor with an impressive repertoire, including two Academy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards, is actively promoting the sequel. A source claims that Meghan has shown interest in the project.
According to an insider quoted in New Idea magazine, "The only thing Kevin loves more than an underdog like Meghan is a box office hit."
Reports suggest that the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan, has expressed her interest in participating in the project. If she were to join the cast, it would add an extraordinary dimension to the narrative, as Princess Diana had previously been considered for the role.
In the original film, Kevin Costner starred alongside the late Whitney Houston. Following its success, discussions were held with Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, to explore the possibility of involving Princess Diana in the sequel.
In an interview in 2012, Kevin Costner shared his vision for the prospective sequel, which would have been "loosely based on her life." He revealed that the studio had shown enthusiasm for the idea of creating "The Bodyguard 2," with Princess Diana portraying the new romantic interest for his character, bodyguard Frank Farmer.
The storyline would have revolved around Farmer's efforts to safeguard Diana's character from relentless stalkers and intrusive paparazzi before their relationship inevitably blossomed romantically.
