In her Instagram story on Thursday afternoon, Britney Spears openly addressed the incident, expressing her discomfort in sharing it with the world, considering it was already out there.
Spears disputed Victor Wembanyama's version of events, clarifying that she merely "lightly tapped him on the shoulder" and highlighting the excessive response from his security personnel. She described how, without even glancing back, the security guard forcefully struck her face, causing her to stumble and her glasses to be knocked off.
In her statement, Spears expressed disappointment at the lack of a public apology from the player, his security team, or their organization. She expressed her hope that they would take responsibility and extend an apology.

According to TMZ's report, Britney arrived at the establishment accompanied by her husband, Sam Asghari, and two other individuals. The singer was greeted by an enthusiastic crowd of fans upon entering the casino.
Subsequently, Britney and her companions proceeded towards Catch restaurant. While making their way inside, the pop star recognized NBA prodigy Victor Wembanyama. Being an admirer of Victor, Britney approached him with the intention of requesting a photograph together.
She lightly tapped him on his back, specifically the right shoulder. It was during this encounter that the Director of Team Security for the San Antonio Spurs, the professional basketball team that recently drafted Victor, allegedly backhanded Britney, causing her to stumble and lose her eyeglasses in the process.
Maintaining her composure, Britney regathered herself and proceeded to her designated table. The security personnel responsible for the incident approached her table, expressing remorse for the unfortunate altercation. He attributed the incident to the overwhelming presence of fans surrounding them, offering an apology to Britney, which she accepted.
In light of the distressing episode, Britney's security team engaged in discussions with Victor's security personnel. Following this interaction, Britney's team took the decision to file a formal complaint with the Metropolitan Police Department, asserting claims of battery.
