Relapse after Sobriety
Heather had previously struggled with alcohol and depression and was sober for over 18 months before suffering a relapse. Her partner did not provide any further information about the incident.

According to the Salt Lake City Police Department, officers were called to Heather's home on May 9th and found her deceased. The preliminary investigation ruled that she committed suicide, but no additional details were released.

The post included a smiling photo of Heather and a heart-wrenching message that read, "Heather Brooke Hamilton aka Heather B. Armstrong aka dooce aka love of my life. July 19, 1975 - May 9, 2023. 'It takes an ocean not to break.' Hold your loved ones close and love everyone else."
Heather is survived by her two daughters, 19-year-old Leta Elise Armstrong and 14-year-old Marlo Iris Armstrong, whom she had with her ex-husband, Jon Armstrong. The former couple announced their divorce in 2012.
