The 42-year-old star talked to Vogue on the carpet and shared her inspiration behind her ensemble and the wardrobe malfunction she experienced.
Inspiration for the Pearl-Covered Ensemble
Kardashian disclosed that she was inspired by iconic Chanel pearls, which is why she opted for pearls in her outfit.
She wanted to be dripping in pearls and hence, chose a Schiaparelli gown covered in freshwater pearls.
Wardrobe Malfunction and Daughter's Assistance
During her appearance on the Met Gala red carpet, some pearls on Kardashian's gown popped off.
Thankfully, her daughter North was with her and was quick to grab the loose pearls and put them in her purse.
Kardashian revealed that the pearls were real and that her daughter had saved the day. Meanwhile, North did not walk the carpet due to age restrictions.
