Alleged Drunk Driver Hits Golf Cart, Killing Bride and Injuring Groom

According to the Associated Press, a tragic incident occurred just minutes after a newlywed couple left their South Carolina wedding reception. The couple was riding in a golf cart when an alleged drunk driver, Jamie Lee Komoroski, slammed into the back of the cart.

The bride, Samantha Miller, lost her life in the accident, and the groom, Aric Hutchinson, suffered severe injuries, including a brain injury and broken bones.

Two others in the cart were also injured, with one in serious condition. Komoroski is facing charges of one count of reckless homicide and three counts of felony DUI resulting in great bodily harm.

Evidence showed that she was driving more than twice the speed limit and only briefly hit the brakes before the collision. The Folly Beach Public Safety Department is investigating the incident, and blood draw results are pending.

Miller's sister expressed her grief and anger at the situation, stating that her sister's desire for the day to last forever was cut short due to someone's terrible decision.

Hutchinson's mother created a GoFundMe page to support her son, who has lost the love of his life. The page has raised more than $430,000 as of Tuesday morning, and all funds will go toward Hutchinson's medical expenses and recovery.

It is a heartbreaking tragedy that underscores the dangers of drunk driving and the need for responsible behavior on the road.
