It has been reported that Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn have ended their romantic relationship of six years. Insiders close to the couple told PEOPLE that the reason for the breakup was that they had "grown apart".

Although they had faced difficulties in the past, they were able to overcome them. However, this time, they were unable to reconcile.

The insiders further revealed that while they had a lot in common and fell in love while Swift was taking a break from public life, they were not ultimately the right match for each other.

The pandemic also played a role in their split, as being locked down together showed that Alwyn did not fully know Swift outside of the bubble they had created.

It is worth noting that neither Swift nor Alwyn's representatives have commented on the situation. Insiders also revealed that Alwyn had difficulty dealing with Swift's fame and that their personalities had become harder to reconcile over the years.

Nonetheless, the couple continues to maintain a friendly relationship, and Swift has only positive things to say about Alwyn.

Swift and Alwyn had a private relationship since they first became linked in 2017. They have also collaborated on ten songs for Swift's albums, with Alwyn working under the pseudonym William Bowery.
