After her separation from Gerard Piqué, Shakira recently discussed how she has found strength and independence after heartbreak.
In an interview conducted in Spanish with Enrique Acevedo of Canal Estrellas, the Colombian singer reflected on learning to feel complete on her own.
Shakira acknowledged that she had always been emotionally dependent on men, confessing that she was once in love with love and believed that a woman needed a man to feel complete.
However, she has since managed to learn from a different perspective and feels that she will be fine on her own. The experience has allowed her to recognize her weaknesses and accept her vulnerability, resulting in her becoming a stronger person.

Shakira has two children, Sasha and Milan, with Piqué, and she now feels that she is on the way up and is enough on her own. She understands that in order for her strength to be genuine and not a façade, it needs to be the result of great pain.
Shakira accepts that life has its ups and downs, and sometimes things do not go as planned. She believes that we must tolerate the frustration and accept the pain to truly grow as individuals.
The singer acknowledges that shattered dreams need to be picked up and pieced back together independently. Shakira and Piqué announced their separation in June after more than 11 years together, with the couple requesting privacy for the sake of their children.
Since their separation, Piqué has gone Instagram official with his new girlfriend, Clara Chia Martí, whereas Shakira has released three tracks that seem to address their split.
