Alexa Bliss, a professional wrestler for WWE, has disclosed that she has received a diagnosis of skin cancer. The athlete subsequently shared a significant message with her supporters after making public her health issue.
In an Instagram Story, the 31-year-old athlete shared a photograph of herself wearing a bandage on the side of her face. She informed her social media followers that she had undergone a surgical procedure to remove basal cell carcinoma, which had been diagnosed after she sought medical attention for her condition.
In her message alongside the image, Bliss wrote, "Dear younger me, you should have avoided tanning beds. However, I am now all clear! Thank you to the American Skin Institute for their exceptional care."
Following this, a fan reposted the picture on Twitter while offering their best wishes to Bliss. In response, the wrestler stated, "Thank you! Do not worry, the healing process will be short. It is important to always get your skin checked, especially if you spend time in the sun or use tanning beds! Lol."
The spouse of musician Ryan Cabrera then provided more details about her diagnosis, stating that she had noticed a spot on her face that had become more problematic.
She underwent a biopsy, which revealed basal cell carcinoma. During the procedure, her doctor also discovered other squamous cells. However, the procedure was quick and easy, and Bliss expressed gratitude for getting her skin checked regularly.
