The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, has commented on the announcement of Prince William's engagement to Kate Middleton.

In his memoir, "Spare", Prince Harry states that he was not informed of the wedding plans by his elder brother, but rather learned of the engagement through an official announcement by the Palace.
He writes that media reports of a tender moment between the two brothers and a bonding experience for all three of them, in which he gifted Prince William the sapphire ring inherited from their late mother, are not accurate.
