A tragic incident occurred at Rushinga High School in Zimbabwe when a 17-year-old schoolgirl, Melody Chiputura, was bitten by a black mamba, one of the world's most venomous snakes, in her classroom.
According to The Herald-Zimbabwe, the snake lunged at her thigh and the incident caused panic among her classmates. Some students reportedly jumped out of windows in an attempt to escape.
Teacher Christopher Murenga, who was present during the incident, stated that the students discovered the snake and were immediately thrown into a state of panic. Chiputura was immediately rushed to the hospital but unfortunately, she died before she could receive treatment. She passed away less than 30 minutes after being bitten.
Chiputura's father expressed his devastation over the loss of his daughter and stated that it was hard for him to accept the fact that she was gone. He also expressed his confusion over how the snake managed to get into the classroom, stating that he could not understand how this could happen.
