It has been announced that Netflix will be releasing a second season of their hit series "Wednesday." Fans have been eagerly awaiting any updates on the show, and now star Jenna Ortega has given some insight into the progress of the upcoming season.
During an interview with Variety, Ortega was asked if she had seen any footage or had any information about the new season. She responded by saying that she had not seen anything as of yet and that she believes the writers' room is just now coming together.
"I have seen nothing, and I know nothing," Ortega stated. "I feel like sometimes as the actor, you just are kind of told what to do. I’m waiting on it, I think they’re just starting to get a writers’ room together, so...maybe soon."
The first season of "Wednesday" was an instant success for Netflix, becoming the streaming service's second most popular English-language series with 1.237 billion hours viewed within its first 28 days. This led to the announcement of a second season last week.
Showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar released a statement expressing their excitement for the next season, saying, "It’s been incredible to create a show that has connected with people across the world. Thrilled to continue Wednesday’s tortuous journey into season two.
"We can’t wait to dive headfirst into another season and explore the kooky spooky world of Nevermore. Just need to make sure Wednesday hasn’t emptied the pool first."
Fans are eagerly awaiting any further updates on the upcoming season of Wednesday and are excited to see what the writers have in store for the characters and the show's unique world.
Ortega's comment that the writers' room is just getting together now suggests that there is still some time before any new footage or information will be released, but fans can rest assured that the show is in the works and that the creators are working hard to bring them an even more exciting and thrilling season.
