Jamie Spears, the father of pop star Britney Spears, has publicly defended his role during his daughter's conservatorship.
Jamie stated in an interview with the Daily Mail that he is uncertain whether his daughter would have survived if it weren't for the legal arrangement, which concluded in November 2021 after a duration of 13 years.

"Not everybody's going to agree with me," he explained. "It's been one hell of a time. But I love my daughter with all my heart and soul. Where would Britney be right now without that conservatorship? And I don't know if she'd be alive. I don't."

According to Jamie, the conservatorship that was established in 2008 following Britney's well-known breakdown at a hair salon not only helped to rebuild her finances, but it was necessary because she was completely financially insolvent at the time.
The end of Britney's conservatorship has been met with mixed reactions, with some people celebrating it as a victory for the singer's autonomy and others expressing concern about her well-being without the legal protection in place.
