The music community was shocked to learn of the sudden death of rapper Big Scarr, whose real name was Alexander Woods.
According to a report from TMZ, Scarr died from an overdose of prescription pain medication while at his girlfriend's house in Memphis.

His uncle, Arthur Woods, stated that he was unsure where Scarr had obtained the pills, but it is possible that they were related to several traumatic incidents that the rapper had experienced in the past.
These included a serious car accident at the age of 16, in which he was ejected through the windshield and sustained a large scar on his stomach, leading to his stage name.

Scarr was also shot in the spine and required emergency surgery to remove his appendix. In addition to these physical challenges, the 22-year-old had been struggling with depression following the loss of his grandmother.
