Buckingham Palace announced that Queen Elizabeth II, Britain's longest-reigning monarch, has passed away at 96 years old.

It read: "The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow."
Meanwhile, Meghan had been scheduled to attend the WellChild Awards in London this evening, so Harry traveled to Balmoral alone, without her.
