While on a world tour for her latest album, "Chromatica," Lady Gaga surprised fans in Toronto with the "original version" of one of its popular tracks.

Although "1000 Doves" has become a hit due to its upbeat tone and catchy chorus, the singer revealed on August 6 she originally had different ideas for it.

"When I wrote this song, I wrote it at the piano," she explained, as shown in a video shared by a fan on TikTok. "And my friends were all trying to convince me to make it into a dance record, so I did."

Lady Gaga added, "I made it into a dance record on the album but I never wanted it to be a dance record because it was f***ing sad, and I was sad. And I was so mad that my friends wanted me to make a happy song out of the saddest sh*t I ever went through in my whole life, so for anybody that's here tonight, that was ever hurting so bad, this ones for you."
