The struggles of Kate Middleton in the royal family are being compared with those of her late mother-in-law Princess Diana.

In discussing the two, biographer Andrew Morton told The Mirror's royal podcast, Pod Save the Queen, "I realized after watching the Royal Family for all these years that it takes a long, long time to really understand what it is like to be royal."
He added, "Catherine Middleton has spent ten, twelve years coming to terms with it. It just takes a long time to absorb yourself into it."

"Catherine was quite a shy person, so making speeches and being in the public was something of an ordeal but I think she's overcome that," Andrew continued. "She reminds me so much of Diana."
Andrew further explained that Diana had a difficult time coming to terms with what it's like to be a princess for a few years.
