Bradley Cooper recently admitted dealing with a serious cocaine addiction during the early years of his career.
Following his demotion from the hit television series, "Alias," the actor revealed that substance abuse became a way to cope with a lack of self-esteem.

Bradley discussed his addictions in a recent episode of Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and Sean Hayes' podcast "Smartless."
His demotion to a guest star in the show's third season, he explained, made him demoralized and lead him to develop a drug and alcohol problem.

"I was so lost and I was addicted to cocaine — that was the other thing," Bradley explained.
He also suffered physical hardships that aggravated his condition.

"I severed my Achilles tendon right after I got fired-slash-quit Alias," the actor said. His self-esteem was terrible at the time, he added.

Later, however, he was limited to appearing on two additional episodes as a special guest.
As he talked with his friends, Bradley noted that he had been lucky to go through his addiction struggles when he was still relatively young and trying to develop his acting career.
After appearing as a supporting actor in "Wedding Crashers" and becoming a star in "The Hangover," he resurrected his career and entered the A-list.
