Britney Spears and her fiancé Sam Asghari have announced that their first pregnancy had ended in miscarriage.
The heartbreaking news was revealed by the couple via Instagram on Saturday, May 14.
The post read, "It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy.

"This is a devastating time for any parent. Perhaps we should have waited to announce until we were further along however we were overly excited to share the good news."
They added, “Our love for each other is our strength. We will continue trying to expand our beautiful family. We are grateful for all of your support. We kindly ask for privacy during this difficult moment."
On April 11, Britney announced her pregnancy through her Instagram account. According to the singer, she discovered she was pregnant when she gained weight following a trip to Miami with Sam.
As Sam informed her that she was only having a "food baby," she took a test and the result was positive.
They added, “Our love for each other is our strength. We will continue trying to expand our beautiful family. We are grateful for all of your support. We kindly ask for privacy during this difficult moment."
