The singer believes people don't take her seriously in the music industry despite dominating the Billboard Hot 100 with endless hits.
Selena even confessed to contemplating the notion of quitting music in 2021.
During an interview with Vogue in March 2021, the star discussed the possibility of leaving the music industry since she sometimes feels her artistry isn't taken seriously.
Despite Selena's reluctance to elaborate on why she felt people didn't respect her craft, she made a point to mention that it's hard to continue to pursue music when "people don't necessarily take you seriously."
The singer added, "I've had moments where I've been like, 'What's the point? Why do I keep doing this?'"
Though Selena has enjoyed much success in the music industry over the years, she has never shied away from acting opportunities if the roles were appealing to her.
