The "2 On" songstress has been eager to be featured in the legendary magazine issue for several years now, and it all started with Tyra Banks.
After the release of the pictures, Tinashe wrote on Twitter about achieving a lifelong dream:
I told my mom when I was like 12/13 that I was gonna be in Sports Illustrated Swim edition someday, after I saw Tyra Banks on the cover. Full circle moment 🙌❤️.

Nonetheless, it hadn't been a coincidence. The singer has worked hard in order to reach the point where she is today. She has also learned a lot on her journey.
The fact remains that Tinashe will always look back on this as a significant achievement regardless of how many hit songs she's had.
Along with the gorgeous photos, she wrote on Instagram, "Pretty cool to be the first independent music artist in the magazine and also the first woman with braids 😍."
The photos of Tinashe featured her in a series of bikinis and one-piece swimsuits. They were taken in Florida by James Macari. The 2021 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue will be available on July 22.
Meanwhile, Tinashe released her music video for "Bouncin" recently.
It seems as if the singer and her dancers are in an 80's aerobic class as they master balance beams and trampolines using moves that require serious glute strength.
