His wife, Paris, had been his rock throughout his illness, providing unwavering support and comfort. But now, fate had dealt them a cruel blow.
"I can't believe it's the same day as Kyla's wedding," Paris exclaimed, her voice laced with worry. "I promised her I'd be there. She's my best friend, Liam."

Liam couldn't believe what he was hearing. "You want me to find a substitute for my surgery while you go to a wedding?"
Paris was firm, "I need to be there for my friend. You don't understand how important this is to me."
Liam's voice rose in frustration, "How can you put a wedding over my health, Paris?"
Paris shot back, "How can you make me choose between you and my best friend?"
The argument raged on, each of them unwilling to back down. Paris insisted that Liam would be fine without her, and Liam argued that she didn't understand the gravity of the situation.
