Nicki Minaj has spoken for the first time about losing her father Robert Maraj in such a sudden and heartbreaking manner.

The rapper said she cannot yet bring herself to talk about his death despite his passing almost three months ago in a hit-and-run in New York.
Minaj, however, addressed the pain caused by the family tragedy in a letter to fans in May 2021.
"I can say it has been the most devastating loss of my life," she wrote, "I find myself wanting to call him all the time. More so now that he's gone. Life is funny that way. May his soul rest in paradise. He was very loved & will be very missed."
Continuing, the rapper revealed that since becoming pregnant, she's been eating ice nonstop. Currently, Minaj drinks 20 cups a day.
