Selena Gomez has expressed disappointment with Facebook because the popular social media failed to stop spreading misinformation about COVID-19 vaccines.

On December 29, the 28-year-old singer tweeted: "Scientific disinformation has and will cost lives. @Facebook said they don't allow lies about COVID and vaccines to be spread on their platforms."

"So how come all of this is still happening?" Gomez added. "Facebook is going to be responsible for thousands of deaths if they don't take action now!"

Her tweet came with a post from the Center for Countering Digital Hate. The post shows Imran Ahmed, CEO of the organization, speaking with BBC News about social media companies' responsibility to monitor inaccurate information regarding the novel coronavirus pandemic in the United Kingdom.

Meanwhile, in November, the hashtag "RESPECT SELENA GOMEZ" trended on Twitter because Selenators were upset by the new "Saved By The Bell" reboot. Fans were hoping that Peacock gets sued for mocking Gomez's illness.
