On January 28, Joia Derouen, reportedly Kardone's wife, posted a plea on social media, asking for help in capturing Skare.
Martell DeRouen, known by stage name Kardone, was found shot dead by the police during a welfare check on January 26 in his San Antonio apartment.

The 34-year-old rapper was reportedly known as Beyonce's cousin in his native Louisiana but was trying to get out of the pop star's shadow.

According to reports, San Antonio Police are looking for Sasha Skare, 21, in connection with the murder. Skare has already been sought for a murder warrant.

Trey Davis, his brother and former UMass basketball star, said Skare had run away in Texas after killing his brother.
Skare was released on bond in January 2020 for previous charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after the 2019 Austin drug deal caused a man's death. The man was reportedly her boyfriend named Andrew Bass.
